Uninhibited Beta Reader
This beta reader will assess your scenes or chapters, giving valid feedback in an amusing way.
- Reading Time
- approx. 2 min
Originally known as ‘Drunk Claude’, this beta reader prompt has been revamped to provide candid, unfiltered feedback on your writing. It offers constructive criticism with a humorous twist, making the review process both insightful and entertaining.
You have the options to customize the level of intoxication, and what information you would like the beta reader to analyze, including pacing, dialogue, character development, and more.

How to Use
Inputs

- Writing. Add the chapter or scene you want reviewed here.
- Drinks. Pick the type of drink that your beta reader has consumed. Will impact the personality of the feedback, rather than the content.
- Drunkenness. How drunk/uninhibited/brutal is your beta reader?
- Additional details. If you select this option, a text box and a selection menu will appear, allowing you to specify what areas you would like feedback on, and to provide any additional context or information that you think would be helpful for the beta reader to know. This can include Snippets or Codex entries.
- Analysis request. Pick what you want the beta reader to focus on. The prompt has a general section, and options for pacing, character, dialogue, and purpose. You can select as many as you like.
Using the Prompt
Once you’ve added the Uninhibited Beta Reader prompt to your Novelcrafter project, follow these steps to get feedback on your writing:
- Open Chat and select the Uninhibited Beta Reader prompt from your saved prompts.
- Set your inputs, including the chapter/scene you want reviewed and any specific areas you’d like feedback on.
- Add a message into the chat box. I usually say ‘Have at it’, but you can customize this to set the tone.
- Click Send and wait for the AI to analyze your writing and provide feedback.
It may be that you don’t agree with all the feedback you receive, and that’s okay! The goal of this prompt is to provide you with a different perspective on your writing, and to highlight areas that you may not have considered. Take what is useful to you, and feel free to ignore anything that doesn’t resonate.
