Novelcrafter

If I'm on the Specialist plan, does the person I invite have to also have a Novelcrafter account?

How sharing novels with other users works.

In order to invite someone to your novel or series, they need to have an account. Depending on the role you want to invite them as, depends on the type of account they need:

  1. Editor: Your collaborators will need to have a paid plan (even scribe) if they want to add or edit data. In the invited novel, they will have the same privileges as those with an artisan plan (i.e. they can use AI within the shared novels).
  2. Viewer: If they only need to view data, a free account is sufficient.

Important Notes About Collaboration

AI Connections Are Not Shared

AI connections are stored locally on each person’s computer and are not shared between users. Just because you invite someone into your novel does not give them access to your AI connections. Each collaborator will need to set up their own AI connections to use AI features within the shared novel.

Prompt Sharing

Currently, you cannot share prompts directly with other collaborators (though this is something planned for the future). Collaborators will need to get your prompts via the clipboard sharing feature first.
